March 27, 2012 - Carrie Underwood, ‘Blown Away’ Track List Revealed
The track listing for Carrie Underwood’s upcoming album, ‘Blown Away,’ has been posted on iTunes! The 14-song record hits stores May 1 and, according to MJsBigBlog, includes eight tunes co-written by the Oklahoma native. Starting off the project is the songstress’ first single, ‘Good Girl.’
“We’ve all been this girl before, who just believes the best in the man that she’s with, no matter what. But people are like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’” Carrie says of the inspiration for ‘Good Girl,’ which she co-penned with songwriters Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano. “So we tried to take the story of dual personalities: one is good and one is knowledgeable … She’s not bad, she’s just trying to give the good girl some knowledge and say, ‘Wake up! Open up your eyes and see this guy for what he is.’”
Even though it’s a wake-up call, the happily married singer is proud that it isn’t a downer. “It’s fun!” she exclaims. “It’s upbeat, you stomp your feet and you can dance to it.”
Carrie is slated to perform the song Sunday (April 1) during the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Being in Vegas is always a lot of fun, and I’m glad to finally get to perform ‘Good Girl’ in a big situation,” the country darling says (quote via CMT). “It’s gonna be really good. We’re having something made for the performance, and it’ll be pretty rockin’.”

Carrie Underwood Interview: ‘Blown Away’ Singer Talks Life In and Out of the ‘Celebrity Bubble’
Carrie Underwood is back, after taking a little time off in between albums to — in her words — “be normal.” But the gorgeous blonde with the divine voice is anything but normal, as her superstar status continues to reach heights beyond her wildest dreams. Things are about to get even wilder as the singer-songwriter releases her fourth studio album, ‘Blown Away,’ on May 1.
The Boot joined a group of Nashville journalists in a chat with Carrie about her new music and its country-rockin’ first single, ‘Good Girl.’ We also took turns asking the songstress about everything from her pets to perfume, and what prompted her to finally join Twitter. She talks married life and her new life as a vegan, along with plans for a fall tour that she promises to be bigger and better than her last. And we all found during our candid chat that what actually is “normal” about this multi-platinum-selling superstar is the way she carries herself like the ‘Good Girl’ next door. Here are some highlights from Carrie’s conversations with our round-table.
On relating to the jilted character in ‘Good Girl’: “I’ve been that stupid girl that was with this guy. Not anytime recently, but I have had people come up to me and say, ‘You don’t need to be with him. I’m telling you as a friend.’ But they would never be blunt with me, it was always dancing around it and I would think, ‘This isn’t the person I know.’ So I’ve been that ‘Good Girl’ that needed someone to smack her. We all have!”

Carrie Underwood’s New Album Expected to Have Darker Songs
Carrie Underwood is nearing completion of her new, yet-to-be-titled fourth album (due out in 2012), and she says the songs she’s chosen were influenced by time spent in studio with Tony Bennett, Steven Tyler and Brad Paisley. The 28-year-old also tells Entertainment Weekly that the album’s songs will include darker storylines.
MJsBigBlog reports that the Underwood is the lead story in this week’s 2012 album preview inside Entertainment Weekly. In the article, she talks about how Bennett’s method of recording his vocals in an open room with the musicians was a new experience for her. Working with Tyler and Paisley also helped shape how she approached the new project.
Additionally, she teases that the music still carries the playful attitude found on ‘Play On’ and ‘Carnival Ride,’ but she’ll tackle darker themes as well. To date, ‘Just a Dream’ is probably the one time ‘American Idol‘ winner’s most haunting storyline.
Underwood worked with Paisley on their chart-topping duet ‘Remind Me,’ and Bennett on his recently released ‘Duets II’ album.
